Role Overview
- Manage temporary works on live gas and asset health upgrade sites.
- Ensure full compliance with BS 5975 standards.
- Coordinate with the Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC).
- Inspect and sign off temporary works before use.
Key Responsibilities
- Check design briefs and risk assessments.
- Issue permits for excavation, shoring, and crane lifts.
- Brief site teams on temporary works procedures.
- Stop unsafe work immediately if risks arise.
- Maintain the site temporary works register.
Requirements
- Valid SMSTS or SSSTS card.
- CITB Temporary Works Supervisor course certificate.
- Experience in gas networks, utilities, or heavy civils.
- Strong knowledge of soil stability, trench support, and scaffolding.
