Description

Linear Recruitment are partnering with an established and leading civil engineering specialist who are experts in multiple sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected UK infrastructure organisation operating at the forefront of major capital delivery frameworks across water, transport, energy, and the built environment. The business is a tier-one delivery partner working across long-term alliances and complex infrastructure programmes, supporting some of the UK’s most critical assets and services.

About the Role – Senior Quantity Surveyor

Working within a major collaborative alliance supporting Anglian Water capital delivery programme, you’ll play a key role in the commercial management of large-scale infrastructure projects as the industry moves into a high-profile new asset management period (AMP8).

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will act as the commercial lead within an integrated delivery team, ensuring strong cost control, robust financial governance, and effective commercial performance across multiple projects. You’ll support both site-based delivery teams and senior commercial stakeholders, helping to drive efficiency, value, and best practice across all stages of the project lifecycle.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a forward-thinking, collaborative environment where innovation, sustainability, and long-term infrastructure improvement are central to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial and cost management of assigned projects or a portfolio of works
  • Maintain accurate, timely financial reporting, cost forecasting, and commercial analysis to support decision-making
  • Ensure full understanding of contractual arrangements across all project stakeholders, including delivery and site teams
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to identify and implement efficiency and value engineering opportunities
  • Manage and maintain robust project records, including final accounts and audit-ready financial documentation
  • Support compliance with governance procedures across the alliance framework and client requirements
  • Provide proactive commercial input to minimise risk, control cost, and maximise value throughout project delivery

About You

Essential:

  • Proven experience in commercial management and cost control within civil engineering or infrastructure environments

Desirable:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong ambition to develop a long-term career in commercial management within major infrastructure delivery

You will be confident, detail-oriented, and commercially astute, with the ability to build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

Why Apply?

  • Work on some of the UK’s largest and most high-profile infrastructure programmes
  • Long-term secured work through major frameworks and alliances
  • Strong emphasis on career progression and internal development
  • Collaborative working environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement
  • Opportunity to contribute to nationally significant water and infrastructure delivery programmes
  • Supportive culture built around developing and investing in people

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career within a high-performing, forward-thinking infrastructure environment.
