We are working with a tier 1 main contractor who are looking to employ an experienced Senior SHEQ Advisor with a Utilities background to drive their health, safety, environmental and quality responsibilities across the Northumbrian Water Framework. This role is on a permanent basis working closely with the Operations and SHEQ Director to ensure the teams can achieve and sustain world class health, safety and environmental performance resulting in net zero and improved sustainability.

Responsibilities:
- Undertaking periodic risk assessments and implementing more robust procedures when necessary
- Providing specialist SHEQ advice to colleagues / subcontractors
- Ensuring contracts are compliant and that positive behaviours are embedded in the day to day works of our operational teams
- Act as a single point of contact for advice and expertise on Health & Safety matters to the project teams to ensure the effectiveness of the Construction Phase Plans during the lifecycle of the project
- Reporting to the SHEQ team you will manage accident / incident investigations, to establish root causes and communicate learning points to prevent re-occurrence
- Provide independent H&S audit capability to the delivery teams for a portfolio of projects through pre-construction & construction phases
What do we need from you?
- Experience in the Civil Engineering sector ideally with Water
- Experience in a SHEQ Advisor or similar position previously
- Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and subcontractors; we are looking for a team player who can add value to our operational teams
- NEBOSH Diploma (desireable)
- IOSH
