Description

Overview

An experienced Senior Project Manager is required to lead the delivery of a major wastewater infrastructure scheme within a live operational environment.

This Senior Project Manager role will suit someone with strong heavy civils, water, commercial and programme management experience, ideally gained on complex treatment works, drainage, pipeline or process upgrade projects.The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for delivery from pre-construction through to completion, with a strong focus on safety, quality, stakeholder management and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of the Senior Project Manager role from ECI and design through to construction, commissioning and handover
  • Manage programme, budget, forecast and commercial performance across the project
  • Oversee delivery of heavy civils and wastewater infrastructure works
  • Produce and maintain construction programmes using Primavera P6 or equivalent
  • Review buildability, scope and technical issues to drive practical solutions
  • Manage NEC contract processes, including Early Warning and Compensation Events
  • Lead weekly site meetings and maintain clear project records and actions
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and operational teams
  • Drive HSE compliance and promote a strong safety culture
  • Ensure quality documentation, ITPs, QA files and handover packs are completed
  • Support risk management, change control and commercial recovery
  • Lead and motivate site teams to achieve successful project outcomes

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree, HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • SMSTS and CSCS Manager’s Card
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience delivering major infrastructure as a Senior Project Manager
  • Background in heavy civils such as drainage, pipelines, shafts, structures or complex earthworks
  • Water or wastewater sector experience is highly desirable
  • Strong planning, commercial and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence, mentor and resolve issues proactively
  • Chartered status or working towards CEng / MICE / AMICE is desirable
  • Knowledge of CDM, design management and cost control preferred
