Overview:
We are recruiting a Site Manager to join a main contractor delivering civils and wastewater works across Nottinghamshire. This Site Manager role will suit an experienced individual who is confident working on live operational assets and managing technically demanding projects from start to finish.
The successful Site Manager will take responsibility for safe delivery, quality, programme, commercial performance and client satisfaction. This is a hands-on Site Manager position with a strong focus on leadership, coordination and delivery in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day site operations as the Site Manager on wastewater and civils projects
- Deliver works safely, to specification, on programme and to the required quality
- Manage subcontractors, engineers and foremen to achieve production targets
- Prepare and implement Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs and Waste Management Plans
- Produce and maintain the construction programme and two-week look-ahead
- Coordinate materials, procurement and site resources to avoid delay
- Maintain strong environmental, temporary works and housekeeping standards
- Represent the business professionally with the client and key stakeholders
- Keep accurate site records, diaries and progress reporting
- Support cost control, value delivery and identification of risks and opportunities
- Chair weekly site meetings where required
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager, Site Agent or similar on civil engineering projects ideally in the Water sector
- Experience working for a contractor in a highly regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, contract conditions, programme management and commercial controls
- Good understanding of civil engineering specifications and testing regimes
- Degree, HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- CSCS card
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
- Temporary Works Coordinator training
- Confined Space training
- Strong communication, leadership and team management skills
- Ability to challenge design and resolve issues to conclusion
