Quantity Surveyor – Northern Region (Flood Alleviation)
Due to continued success, the business is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Northern Region, initially working on a Flood Alleviation scheme in Lowdham.
This is a hybrid role, combining home working, attendance at the Chesterfield office, and regular site visits.
Key Responsibilities
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for:

Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards

Preparing contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and related documentation

Carrying out on-site measurements and measurements from drawings
-
Identifying and managing commercial risks and mitigation strategies
-
Undertaking ongoing cost analysis of works
-
Preparing estimates and feasibility studies
-
Analysing and agreeing subcontractor quotations
-
Preparing and agreeing variations, interim valuations, and final accounts
-
Issuing payment certifications to subcontractors
-
Providing commercial support for dispute resolution
-
Ensuring adherence to company procedures and policies
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
-
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within heavy civil engineering
-
Strong knowledge and experience working with NEC forms of contract
-
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
-
A proactive, flexible, and solutions-focused approach
-
Strong numeracy and IT capability
-
Willingness to travel regionally
-
A full UK driving licence
