Freelance Planner – Construction

Location: Hartlepool or Gateshead (site / office based, with flexibility)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Planner to support construction projects based in Hartlepool or Gateshead.

The role will involve programme development, progress monitoring, and reporting across live construction works. This is a great opportunity for a planner who enjoys working closely with project and site teams and contributing to successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update construction programmes

• Support project teams with short-term and long-term planning

• Monitor progress and report against baseline programmes

• Identify programme risks and opportunities

• Assist with change management and programme impacts

• Liaise with site teams, project managers, and commercial teams

• Produce progress reports and look-ahead schedules

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Planner or Planning Engineer role

• Construction industry experience preferred (civils, earthworks, or general build experience beneficial)

• Strong working knowledge of planning software (e.g. Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or similar)

• Good understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Ability to work independently in a freelance environment
