Description

We are working with an exciting contractor who are seeking a Site-based Project Manager to oversee projects in the EHV Power sector. As the Project Manager you will be responsible for multiple projects from start to completion throughout the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility to oversee all aspects of project(s), from start to completion, ensuring they are undertaken on programme, on budget, to a high standard of quality and safety in line with company procedures
  • Mobility - able to work away on large projects anywhere in mainland UK; additionally able to travel on a daily basis to a series of smaller scattered sites, as required
  • Well-presented, articulate, able to liaise directly with clients & present a good company image, good meetings skills, diplomatic, customer-focussed, trust worthy
  • Able to efficiently source, organise, plan and allocate resources (site management, labour, plant, materials & specialist sub-contractors)
  • Able to generate detailed Method Statements, Risk Assessments and other site documentation
  • Good knowledge of Temporary Works procedures including preparation of associated design briefs
  • Financially aware, detailed financial monitoring and reporting
  • Understanding of contract conditions (NEC 3, etc.)

What do we need from you?

  • Experience in utilities sector at Project Manager level - alternative experience in drainage, road construction/maintenance, groundworks, reinforced concrete foundations, earthworks, civils, etc.
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Highly literate, numerate and with good IT skills (spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Substation civils experience (and HV cable installation experience)
  • Working knowledge of New Roads & Streetworks, experience in trench excavations (in fields and highways) and backfill / reinstatement
  • Typical training certs held: SMSTS, TWC, NG BESC/Person, NRSWA Sup, HSG-47, First Aid, Appointed Person
