Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Site Engineer to provide a watching brief across critical infrastructure works throughout Cheshire and North Wales.

The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting approximately two sites per day, overseeing ongoing works and ensuring that contractors are working safely, correctly and in accordance with the agreed RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide an independent watching brief and oversee ongoing works.
  • Inspect site activities to ensure works are being carried out in accordance with approved RAMS.
  • Carry out regular quality checks and identify any issues or deviations from the agreed specification.
  • Monitor excavation, installation and backfilling activities, ensuring the required standards are maintained.
  • Raise concerns where work does not meet the required safety, quality or procedural standards.
  • Liaise with contractors and site teams to ensure requirements are understood and followed.
  • Maintain accurate site records and report findings following site visits.
  • Ensure works are completed safely and with minimal risk to critical infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Experience working within utilities, water, civil engineering or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Good understanding of RAMS and site compliance.
  • Strong understanding of construction quality requirements and site inspection procedures.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
