Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering a wide range of projects across established frameworks, bespoke schemes and emergency works. Projects typically range in value from £200k to £10m+, covering complex and varied infrastructure environments.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support project delivery teams and strengthen commercial performance across multiple schemes.

The Role

The Quantity Surveyor will provide full commercial support to project teams, ensuring accurate commercial information is maintained and all contractual obligations are met in line with company procedures and strategic objectives.

You will play a key role in managing and controlling project finances, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring commercial risk is effectively identified and mitigated. The role also involves regular liaison with clients, stakeholders and third parties to manage variations, claims and additional payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day commercial support across civil engineering and infrastructure projects
  • Manage, track and report on project costs, valuations and financial performance
  • Identify, record and realise commercial opportunities while mitigating risk
  • Support the agreement of variations, claims and additional works with clients and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company commercial procedures
  • Work closely with project teams to improve efficiency and cost performance
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting in line with project requirements

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within construction or civil engineering
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders

Desirable

  • Experience working with NEC contracts, particularly Option A & E
  • Previous exposure to civil engineering or infrastructure projects
