We are currently seeking an experienced Regional Planner to join a well-established and fast-growing civil engineering specialist operating across the Northern Region.

This organisation has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and environmental projects across sectors including water, flood management, and public realm. Known for its dynamic and forward-thinking approach, the business combines technical expertise with a collaborative culture, enabling teams to deliver innovative and practical solutions on complex schemes.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued regional expansion, this is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive contractor that places real value on its people, offering a supportive environment, flexible working, and genuine opportunities for career development.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that project programmes remain accurate, consistent, and up to date through regular collaboration with site teams and regional management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed monthly reviews of project programmes, ensuring all changes are captured and recorded appropriately

  • Maintain and update programmes in line with contractual requirements, progress, and as-built records

  • Review short-term (two-week look-ahead) programmes

  • Analyse site records, contractual notices, and communications relating to programme matters

  • Ensure programme submissions meet contractual compliance and are accepted where required

  • Review project change registers alongside delivered works and contract conditions

  • Monitor and assess Risk & Opportunities registers

  • Identify and support entitlement not previously captured by site teams

  • Assist in protecting programme entitlement and support Extension of Time (EOT) claims

  • Provide planning expertise, construction methodology input, and solutions to engineering challenges

  • Support regional leadership with process and system improvements

  • Contribute to pre-contract tender activities, including planning, methodology, and bid writing

  • Mentor and support the development of junior team members

About You

  • Proven experience working on live construction sites (essential)

  • Strong proficiency in planning software, particularly Microsoft Project (essential) and/or ASTA

  • Solid working knowledge of NEC contracts

  • Practical experience in civil engineering projects, ideally within environmental, water, or flood management sectors

  • Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with site teams and senior management

  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

  • Company pension (matched up to 8%)

  • Life assurance (4x annual salary)

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with option to purchase more

  • Structured training and development programmes

  • Cycle-to-work scheme

  • Employee Assistance Programme

  • Employee benefits platform

  • Free on-site parking

  • Active social calendar, including team events and charity initiatives

  • Early finish every Friday

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner who has developed their expertise through hands-on site delivery and is looking to take the next step within a supportive and progressive organisation.
