We’re working with a leading UK principal civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on the £100m+ scheme. This is a major highways infrastructure project involving the construction of a carriageway, including junctions, significant earthworks, drainage and structures.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to strengthen their experience on a major, high-profile UK infrastructure programme.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take responsibility for the commercial management of key packages across the project, working closely with operational, engineering and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the commercial performance of allocated packages
• Preparing, negotiating and managing subcontract agreements
• Managing subcontractor valuations, variations and change
• Administering NEC contracts, including Compensation Events and contractual notices
• Preparing and agreeing monthly applications and commercial submissions
• Producing CVRs, budgets, forecasts and cost reports
• Monitoring project performance and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Working closely with site and engineering teams to ensure accurate cost capture
• Maintaining strong commercial governance and contractual compliance

About You

We’re looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with experience across highways, civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous QS experience 
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of NEC or other standard forms of contract
• Experience with subcontract management, change control and commercial reporting
• Strong understanding of CVRs, forecasting and cost control
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or relevant commercial experience
• Valid CSCS card

RICS or CIOB membership is desirable.
