- Description
The Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) will deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective temporary works solutions to support project delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating, reviewing, and checking designs, ensuring compliance with CDM and industry standards, and providing technical advice and solutions tailored to client and site requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and manage temporary works design briefs, technical designs, and independent checks, ensuring compliance with CDM, HSE, and environmental standards

Coordinate design consultants, internal teams, and specialist suppliers to deliver temporary solutions on time, within budget, and to required approvals

Provide technical support including value-engineered alternatives, reviewing complex method statements, and resolving design queries (RFIs, TQs)

Assist with estimating, supplier approvals, pricing, movement orders, and traffic management schemes; oversee handover from design to construction teams

Liaise with clients, suppliers, and third parties to maintain collaboration and promote best practice across projects
Requirements
Essential
-
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
-
Strong knowledge of temporary works, construction processes, deep drainage, lifting ops, and structural works

Experience in water and rail sectors; able to review permanent and temporary designs

Proficient in AutoCAD with knowledge of CESWI, Network Rail, and Highways specifications

Experience securing third-party approvals; CITB Temporary Works Coordinator and CSCS card
-
Ability to identify risks/opportunities and support logistics planning
Desirable

Appointed Person for Lifting, NRSWA Supervisor

Site and design office experience

Incorporated/Chartered membership (or working towards it)

Knowledge of TFL, DLR, and NR approval processes

Familiarity with Autodesk, Bluebeam, and Bentley 3D
