Freelance Assistant Site Manager – Housing Site 
Location: Gateshead, UK
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Freelance/Contract
Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager to join our team on a busy residential housing development site in Gateshead. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to step into a key role on-site, supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring high standards of health, safety, and build quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Site Manager in overseeing site operations

  • Monitor progress and assist in the coordination of trades and subcontractors

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Carry out site inspections and quality checks

  • Maintain site records and assist with reporting

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager on residential housing projects

  • SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, and CSCS card (required)

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Able to hit the ground running and work independently when needed

  • Own transport preferred
