Description

Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading main contractor for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of multiple civil infrastructure projects across the Thames Valley region. This role is ideal for a confident, hands-on Project Manager with strong technical knowledge and commercial acumen, seeking a long-term position with secured framework work and genuine career progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project delivery, ensuring safety, quality, and commercial performance

  • Manage costs, budgets, and financial forecasting/reporting

  • Oversee programme development using Primavera P6 or similar tools

  • Chair site meetings and manage client and stakeholder relationships

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

  • Develop and maintain construction programmes, ITPs, and HSE documentation

  • Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, and site teams

  • Resolve design queries, manage variations, and prepare project handover packs

  • Contribute to estimating and business development activity

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Agent in civils/utilities

  • Strong commercial understanding (NEC contracts, EWN/CE processes)

  • Knowledge of CDM regs, programme and risk management

  • Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

  • SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card, NEBOSH Construction Certificate

  • MEICA understanding and ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams

  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills

  • Able to deliver high-value projects with minimal supervision

Desirable:

  • Chartered status (CEng MICE)

  • Knowledge of JCT contracts

  • Experience with pre-construction and project close-out
