Estimator

We are working with a main contractor who are seeking to employ an Estimator on a permanent basis to add to their growing team in the Energy sector. As the Estimator you will provide support to the work winning team in pursuit of new business opportunities. If you have a background in Utilities and Infrastructure this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the production, strategy and interfacing between various departmental functions to ensure that tender returns are accurately priced, commercially and technically detailed
• Ensuring timescales are maintained throughout the tendering process
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and other professionals together with fostering the development of future tender success and new Client opportunities
• Supporting the transition between the tender phase to project handover and delivery

What do we need from you?

• Experience in tendering or quantity surveying, with a Mechanical / Steel or Utilities background
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Experience of a senior commercial role
• Valid driving licence
• Knowledge of NEC suite of contracts, ability to ‘take off’ from design drawings, interpret specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities
• Involvement in the tendering process and the preparation and presentation of detailed tender cost build ups
• Background in the Gas sector (Desirable)
