Estimator – Civil Engineering (Water & Infrastructure)

Location: Hybrid / UK (with occasional travel as required)

Are you an Estimator looking to work on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects with a business that offers long-term career progression?

Our client is a leading privately owned infrastructure contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they're looking to add an Estimator to their expanding pre-construction team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering competitive tenders across high-value water and civil engineering projects, working alongside experienced bid, planning and operational teams.

The Role

As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting the tender process from initial enquiry through to contract award. You'll work collaboratively with internal teams to develop winning submissions, assess project risks and opportunities, and contribute to successful project delivery.

You'll also assist with tender presentations, maintain estimating documentation and support the smooth handover of projects to delivery teams once secured.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as an Estimator within civil engineering

  • Background in water infrastructure projects

  • Experience pricing civil engineering works and Design & Build projects

  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent numerical skills

  • Experience using estimating software such as Candy, Conquest or similar

  • Confident communicator with a collaborative approach

Desirable:

  • Experience within wastewater, rail or tunnelling projects

  • Progress towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
