Day Rate: £300 - £350 per shiftThe Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of a high-rise residential development in Newcastle. This is a key freelance role on a landmark scheme, offering the opportunity to take ownership of site operations on a fast-paced, complex build.Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site personnel
- Work closely with the Project Manager and commercial team to monitor progress and costs
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations and company standards
- Drive programme delivery, identifying and mitigating risks to timelines
- Conduct regular site meetings, progress reports, and quality inspections
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure snagging is managed effectively
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager on high-rise residential or large-scale RC frame projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, and programme management
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid certified
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate complex packages
- Strong focus on health & safety and quality assurance
- Experience working in a freelance/contract capacity preferred
