Description

Overview

This Site Engineer role will support the delivery of wastewater infrastructure works within a major water framework. The Site Engineer will be responsible for setting out, survey control, and accurate site engineering across civils-led works, including below-ground structures, pipework, drainage, access arrangements, and interfaces with mechanical and electrical installations. The Site Engineer will work closely with the site team to help ensure the project is delivered safely, accurately, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

The Site Engineer will:

  • Establish and maintain level and survey control for the contract
  • Set out detailed works in accordance with drawings, specifications, and design information
  • Carry out regular checks to ensure setting out accuracy and compliance
  • Support the delivery of civils works associated with wastewater infrastructure, including excavations, concrete structures, pipework, and asset tie-ins
  • Work with the Site Agent and delivery team to support a safe and efficient sequence of works
  • Produce and maintain site records, including site diaries and allocation sheets
  • Prepare ITPs, task briefings, and 2-week lookaheads
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure materials, plant, and resources are available to support the programme
  • Resolve technical issues as they arise on site
  • Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and quality at all times

Qualifications

The successful Site Engineer will have:

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer or in a setting out role on civil engineering projects
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and relevant regulations
  • Experience using robotic total stations or EDM instruments
  • Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • A self-driven, results-focused approach with a positive attitude
  • CSCS card
  • 3+ years’ setting out experience

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the water industry or on wastewater treatment works
  • AutoCAD and MS Office experience
  • Temporary works coordination experience
  • Cable avoidance training
  • First Aid training
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
