Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor – Construction Schemes
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of construction projects across the Teesside region. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team delivering a mix of commercial, residential, and infrastructure schemes.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of multiple projects, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The role requires a proactive individual who can operate independently and manage competing priorities across several live sites.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment
- Monitor project costs and cash flow, providing regular financial reports
- Conduct valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and site teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of contracts (e.g. JCT/NEC)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Professional membership (e.g. RICS) desirable but not essential
