Recent related work in the area has also included parallel rising main upgrades and sewer resilience improvements across the East London network.

This Site Engineer role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, accurate setting out and working closely with site delivery teams to keep complex civils works progressing safely, to programme and to the required quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of RAMS, ITPs, project plans and site records
  • Maintain accurate site diaries, allocation sheets, drawing registers and photographic records
  • Support pre-construction reviews, permits and stakeholder consent processes before works start
  • Promote safe working practices, environmental compliance and the highest quality standards
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and highlight risks early to the site team
  • Monitor commercial awareness on site and support notification of variations where required
  • Build strong working relationships with the site workforce and customer technical representatives
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the Site Engineer package to programme and budget

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, health and safety and legal compliance
  • Fully conversant with robotic total station or EDM equipment
  • Degree or HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering

  • CSCS card

Desirable:

  • Experience using AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Temporary Works Co-ordination experience
  • Cable avoidance training
  • First Aid training
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
  • SMSTS

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with company pension, life assurance and private medical cover
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays and loyalty days
  • Flexible benefits, Employee Assistance Programme and volunteering allowance
  • Ongoing leadership coaching, training and structured career development
