Site Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a complex infrastructure project involving utility diversions across multiple sites in the Midlands. This is a full-time, site-based role requiring travel between locations (own vehicle required, with site vehicles available on-site). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure scheme, where you will play a key role in setting out, quality assurance, and utility works, bringing strong technical expertise to a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out using GPS, Total Station, and laser equipment

• Ensuring works meet drawings, specifications, and tolerances

• Managing QA checks, inspections, and documentation

• Interpreting technical drawings and standards

• Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders

• Maintaining as-built records and supporting programme delivery

• Upholding health, safety, and environmental standards

• Act as a mentor to junior engineers where required

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role

• Experience in highways and foul drainage, multi-utility coordination (Gas, Water, Power, Comms), and setting out with QA processes.

• Tier One contractor experience (essential)

• Large infrastructure project experience (desirable)

• Proficient with GPS, Total Station, rotating laser, and pipe laser

• Strong understanding of highway specifications and standards

Qualifications

• CSCS Card (essential)

• Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)

• SMSTS/SSSTS (desirable)
