Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Civil Engineering Infrastructure

An established, award-winning civil engineering contractor with a strong regional presence is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a high-profile infrastructure scheme in the South East.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in the commercial management of a major highways and bridge infrastructure project, with an initial programme of approximately 18 months commencing in 2026. Working closely with operational teams, you will ensure robust commercial control while maximising project performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial administration of the project from inception through to final account.
• Manage interim valuations, variations and contractual change processes.
• Monitor project costs and ensure strict budgetary control.
• Procure and manage specialist subcontract packages.
• Identify commercial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontract documentation.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.

About You

• Proven experience working for a main contractor within heavy civil engineering, highways or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding and practical experience administering NEC contracts.
• Ability to manage complex projects commercially and drive successful outcomes.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and IT skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between regional sites when required.
