Description

As a MEICA Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing construction site activities to deliver projects that meet customer objectives, with a strong focus on Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (MEICA) works. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and to the required quality standards, while maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with project and contracts managers, engineers, and quantity surveyors to ensure the successful execution of MEICA installations and commissioning activities across civil and water sector projects ranging in value from £200k to £10m+.

Key Responsibilities

Site Management

  • Oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects, leading MEICA installation works.

  • Manage and supervise MEICA site teams, providing direction and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

  • Produce and implement project documentation, including Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, and Waste Management Plans.

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive MEICA documentation such as method statements, risk assessments, and inspection plans.

  • Support and coordinate MEICA installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

  • Review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and develop commissioning strategies.

  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and commissioning data for O&M manuals.

  • Ensure project programmes and 2-week lookahead schedules are produced and maintained.

  • Liaise with procurement teams to ensure resource availability and materials delivery.

  • Support MEICA design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Client Interface

  • Act as a professional representative to clients, stakeholders, and official bodies.

  • Maintain excellent communication and deliver products and services that meet or exceed client expectations.

  • Support client-side commissioning and acceptance testing.

Cost Control

  • Manage and populate project cost plans.

  • Maximise project value and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Maintain detailed site diaries and accurate financial records.

  • Drive commercial efficiency and value engineering initiatives.

Reporting

  • Produce accurate and timely reports for internal and client review.

  • Chair and document weekly site meetings.

  • Support commercial forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with business objectives, KPIs, and reporting deadlines.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in MEICA and Civil Engineering environments, ideally as a Site Manager or Site Agent.

  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, Design and Risk Management, Programme and Cost Control.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Installations (BS7671: 18th Edition).

  • C&G 2365 Electrical qualification and AM2 test.

  • Degree/HNC in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.

  • Industrial MEICA installation and commissioning background.

  • CSCS Card holder.

  • IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS certified.

  • Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.

  • Strong problem-solving ability and proactive attitude.

  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and technical interfaces.

Desirable Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or equivalent status.

  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 software.

  • Familiarity with NEC or JCT contract forms.

  • Understanding of WIMES standards.

  • Experience within the utilities industry, particularly water and wastewater.

  • City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent).

  • LV/HV training or experience.

  • Thames Water Safety Passport, EUSR Water Hygiene Card, CP1/2 Confined Space certification.
