Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Regional SHEQ Manager to take a leadership role on a major Yorkshire Water framework. Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, you’ll oversee SHEQ performance across multiple projects, driving excellence in safety, quality, and environmental standards. This role will suit a proactive leader experienced within water, utilities, or infrastructure who can inspire teams, embed a positive culture, and deliver continuous improvement across regional operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop the regional SHEQ team, setting high performance standards and fostering a culture of accountability.

  • Deliver the regional SHEQ strategy aligned to framework, regulatory, and business objectives.

  • Maintain and continually improve the integrated management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to ensure effective corrective action and learning.

  • Oversee audits, inspections, and performance reviews; ensure ongoing certification and compliance.

  • Promote proactive safety and environmental behaviours through leadership, engagement, and training initiatives.

  • Support delivery teams to manage environmental impact, occupational health, and regulatory obligations across all sites.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH), or working towards.

  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 preferred.

  • Proven track record in a SHEQ leadership role within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong understanding of UK SHEQ legislation, regulatory frameworks, and best practice.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region.
