Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Regional SHEQ Manager to take a leadership role on a major Yorkshire Water framework. Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, you’ll oversee SHEQ performance across multiple projects, driving excellence in safety, quality, and environmental standards. This role will suit a proactive leader experienced within water, utilities, or infrastructure who can inspire teams, embed a positive culture, and deliver continuous improvement across regional operations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and develop the regional SHEQ team, setting high performance standards and fostering a culture of accountability.

Deliver the regional SHEQ strategy aligned to framework, regulatory, and business objectives.

Maintain and continually improve the integrated management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to ensure effective corrective action and learning.

Oversee audits, inspections, and performance reviews; ensure ongoing certification and compliance.

Promote proactive safety and environmental behaviours through leadership, engagement, and training initiatives.

Support delivery teams to manage environmental impact, occupational health, and regulatory obligations across all sites.
Qualifications and Requirements

NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH), or working towards.

Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 preferred.

Proven track record in a SHEQ leadership role within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

Strong understanding of UK SHEQ legislation, regulatory frameworks, and best practice.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region.
