The Company
Our client is a leading social housing provider in the North East, committed to delivering high-quality, affordable homes and sustainable communities. With a strong pipeline of projects and a focus on value for money, they are investing in their people to ensure they continue to deliver outstanding results across their developments and maintenance programmes.

The Opportunity
They are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team. This is a key role in supporting the delivery of new-build, refurbishment, and maintenance works across their housing stock, ensuring commercial efficiency, value for money, and contractual compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional looking to bring their experience to a client-side role, with the chance to influence and shape the commercial delivery of meaningful projects that have a real social impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of assigned projects, from inception to completion.
  • Oversee procurement, cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Work closely with internal project teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure financial efficiency and performance.
  • Provide commercial advice and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and relevant regulations.
  • Contribute to tender evaluations and contractor negotiations.
  • Support junior QS team members with mentoring and guidance.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at a senior level.
  • Background in social housing, residential, or commercial new build/refurbishment projects. Will also consider commercial builds or similar experience working for main contractors.
  • Applications are welcomed from candidates with main contractor experience in commercial or mixed-use developments who are looking to transition to a client-side role.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

What They Offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Company bonus
  • On site gym
  • Flexible working and hybrid options
  • 25+ days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Continuous professional development and training
  • A supportive and values-led working environment

How to Apply:
If you are a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor looking to make a positive impact through your work, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and we will contact you straight away
