Description

We’re looking for a Project Engineer with MEICA experience to support the delivery of mechanical, electrical, and control systems on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role combines technical oversight with cross-team coordination to ensure safe, timely, and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, scoping, and delivering MEICA works within budget and schedule

  • Support tendering, procurement, and contractor management

  • Review and coordinate engineering drawings, specifications, and risk assessments

  • Monitor site progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure QA/QC compliance

  • Maintain project records, produce reports, and support change management

  • Promote safe working practices and adherence to CDM regulations

  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery

Performance Targets:

  • Timely, compliant project delivery with minimal risk

  • Strong collaboration across project and client teams

  • Quality documentation and reporting throughout project lifecycle

Key Relationships:

  • Project Managers, Engineers, Site & Delivery Teams

  • Procurement, Commercial, and HSEQ teams

  • Clients, consultants, and subcontractors

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, ICA, or related field

  • Proven experience on MEICA or industrial projects, ideally in utilities

  • Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills

  • Familiar with Microsoft 365, health & safety standards, and CDM

  • Valid CSCS card, SMSTS/NEBOSH, and First Aid qualification

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of WIMES and NEC/MF1/IChemE contracts

  • Experience with water/wastewater projects

  • EUSR or Thames Water Passport
