We're looking for an experienced Design Manager to join our growing programme of BESS projects. You’ll be at the forefront of innovation, integrating multi-disciplinary teams from across global regions and working closely with clients to deliver future-focused, environmentally-conscious solutions.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for performance across health & safety, project delivery, and customer satisfaction—while shaping a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of BESS design projects from concept through to completion.

  • Manage and grow a diverse, multidisciplinary team, setting culture and strategic direction.

  • Build strong client relationships and exceed expectations through exceptional service.

  • Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 responsibilities as Principal Designer and Designer.

  • Oversee project health and safety, financial performance, and quality assurance.

  • Shape and implement people strategies, including recruitment, development, and retention.

  • Manage technical delivery across voltage levels from LV up to 400kV, in both transmission and DNO environments.

  • Lead design for new electrical connections (contestable and non-contestable works).

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in engineering or a relevant science discipline.

  • Chartered Engineer (or equivalent status).

  • Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary design teams.

  • Strong background in both civil and electrical design within a design & build environment.

  • Extensive experience in electrical network design across all voltage levels (LV to 400kV).

  • Skilled in project management and delivering major infrastructure projects.

  • Capable of managing tenders for large, complex projects.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary with performance-based reviews

  • Tailored progression plans and professional development

  • Flexible benefits package including lifestyle, financial, health, and wellbeing support

  • Extensive training and leadership development

  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy transition

Salary and benefits will be discussed during the interview based on experience and qualifications.
