A Tier One main contractor is seeking a Quality Manager to join a landmark £100m+ highways project in Suffolk. This is a pivotal position within the project’s Assurance Team, offering the opportunity to establish and oversee quality management systems from the outset of a nationally significant scheme.
Key Responsibilities of the Quality Manager:

Lead quality assurance and compliance with ISO 9001 and the contractor’s Business Management System (BMS)

Set up and manage internal and external audit programmes across departments, supply chain, and third-party partners

Maintain an effective trained auditor list, schedule audits, and provide full reporting including trend and risk analysis

Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement across all quality processes

Support the pre-construction team on quality-related aspects of tendering and early works planning

Chair quality meetings and maintain the project-specific BMS in line with business requirements

Engage regularly with key project stakeholders including client teams, consultants, and subcontractors

Assist with the development and ongoing review of the Project Quality Plan and Business Continuity Plan

Attend company-wide quality forums and contribute to broader business quality improvement initiatives
About You – The Ideal Quality Manager Will Have:

Strong understanding of construction-related Quality Management Systems and compliance frameworks

Demonstrated ability to lead audit programmes and support quality improvement across large projects

Professional, solutions-focused communicator who can influence teams and stakeholders at all levels

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)

CSCS card relevant to role

Practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), ideally working towards Chartered Quality Professional (CQP MCQI or FCQI)

Minimum: Internal Auditor qualified and progressing toward ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
