Description

Overview:
A leading UK construction and infrastructure group is seeking a Lead Internal Auditor to join its Group Services division. This role offers a home-based working arrangement, with some travel (up to 20%) to various sites across the Midlands and Northern England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, and execute internal audits across multiple business functions.

  • Guide and support audit colleagues in identifying findings and agreeing on action plans.

  • Review and finalize audit reports and follow up on action implementation.

  • Facilitate risk reviews across business units.

  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to communicate findings and support improvements.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. CIA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA).

  • Previous experience in internal audit or public practice, ideally with experience leading audit teams.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and constructive feedback.

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in both remote and face-to-face settings.

  • Construction industry experience is advantageous but not required.
