Description

Are you a motivated and skilled Mechanical Project Lead looking to take your career to the next level? We’re working with an M&E Contractor, specialising in Fit Out projects and they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Lead to help them achieve their project objectives through meticulous planning and evaluation of project activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Project Success: Lead the production of essential site safety documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, COSHH, and HAVS.
- Health and Safety Advocacy: Manage all aspects of health and safety to ensure a safe working environment for all operatives and third parties.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work within a multi-disciplinary project team, engaged at every stage of design and development.
- Client Engagement: Identify customer requirements and effectively liaise with clients, contractors, and members of the design team.
- Technical Expertise: Read and interpret design specifications and technical drawings, while researching suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales.
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to British (BS), European (EN), and other relevant standards.
- Procurement Excellence: Oversee the procurement of subcontract trades, suppliers, and in-house labour, utilizing formal contracts to place orders.
- Financial Oversight: Complete monthly project profit and loss documentation, manage financial and commercial aspects, and handle sub-contract and client variations.
- Continual Monitoring: Create and update original programmes of work weekly to maintain accurate progress monitoring.
- Strategic Leadership: Chair weekly site meetings with the site manager to review progress, set delivery goals, and uphold H&S standards. 
- Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports for client meetings and conduct review meetings with Directors to assess project status.

Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in fit-out projects is essential.
- Technical expertise with a background in construction/commercial projects.
- Relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND) or similar field of study.
- Strong estimating and design experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proficient decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- A motivational approach to managing teams and projects.
