Linear Recruitment are interested in a CAD Technician from an mechanical background to join a leading blue chip infrastructure company based in Salford. They business is made up of six different business units which include, construction, group functions, highways, infrastructure, utilities, and properties which deliver sustainable construction and infrastructure to vital parts of the UK.

Location: Manchester - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Business Area: Transportation

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical CAD Technician, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in delivering a broad range of complex Mechanical and Electrical related services in both temporary and permanent works..

Your day to day will include:

• You will produce BIM models to support with schemes and project delivery. These will include 3D models, production of 2D CAD drawings to support engineering functions and works design.
• You'll also support with bid winning through outlining design schemes, feasibility studies and concept evaluation which focuses on efficiency and innovation.
• You'll also be tasked with delivery of value engineering and providing engineering expertise/technical advice and identifying technical risks and solutions to facilitate scoping, pricing, designing and construction.

What are we looking for?

This role of Mechanical CAD Technician is great for you if:

• Civils 3D experience is essential
• Experience in Revit is essential as is prior working knowledge of piping systems within the water sector
• You'll also have a design focused approach and strong experience in other AutoDesk software
• You have strong technical capabilities and a delivery focused approach
