- Description
Mechancial Project Engineer required to work on Water Treatment Works. This is a new extension and upgrade works to existing clean water facility incorporating ceramic filtration >80Mld.
- Managing the interfaces and integration of the mechanical design with that of other disciplines.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the construction team to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout the design stages, into construction and beyond
- Develop various mechanical sub-contractor scopes for procurement
- Review, evaluate and comment on sub-contractor tender returns
- Commercial & technical negotiations with sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Follow through sub-contractor packages to site delivery and potentially installation
- Specify equipment requirements and standards
- Review and manage to the construction programme, mitigate delays and work with the team to achieve positive outcomes
- Ensure regulatory, legislative, HSE, company and end client standards are maintained throughout the delivery programme.
- Ensure all sub-contractor engineering designs meet required standards.
- Communicate and manage relationships both internal and external.
- Work with the Project Team to produce and review project plans / programs.
- To ensure the project is driven to provide the best value solutions, and delivered on time and within budgets.
- Produce and maintain all required documentation to develop project O&M
- Assist with the commissioning planning when required and to distribute with sub-contractors, include commissioning within sub-contractor scopes.
- Reporting to the M&E Project Manager, a positive, "can do" approach, determined to succeed, the Project Engineer will be able to work on their own initiative and form part of a successful team.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in the water sector, preferably with clean water
- Knowledge of membrane systems advantageous
- Be knowledgeable of the following: pumps/pipe systems, sludge, ozone generation systems, chemical dosing, water/wastewater treatment process equipment
- Experience of 3D modelling for sub-contractor engagement, take off, review, wtc. (not for model creation or design)
- Knowledge of Reg 30 / WRAS
- Experience within similar roles in the water treatment industry would be advantageous
