Our client who is based in Durham is looking for a Contracts Manager to join the team. They specialise in undertaking all forms of construction and maintenance work for clients in the public and private sectors including newbuild and refurbishment work for newbuild housing, and social housing.
In this role, you will be expected to run multiple projects for clients on various Frameworks while planning the scope of work with your team to deliver projects on time. Based in their offices you will work closely with the wider commercial and Site teams in a friendly collegiate atmosphere. As a Contracts Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that any issues that arise are resolved as quickly and effectively as possible. Our client is looking for someone who can grow with the role, is tech savvy, and has the skills and knowledge that come with experience in the construction or civils sector.
Duties may include:
- Preparing tenders for clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business.
- Developing and presenting project proposals.
- Meeting with clients to find out their requirements.
- Producing plans and estimating budgets and timescales.
- Discussing, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating the terms of business contracts.
- Agreeing budgets and timescales with the clients.
- Managing construction schedules and budgets.
- Dealing with any unexpected costs.
- Attending site meetings to monitor progress.
- Sending regular updates of work progress to clients.
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, site, and Project Managers.
- Working with third parties to ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Making sure construction projects meet agreed technical standards.
- Liaising with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, legal teams, and the client’s own representatives.
- Overseeing invoicing at the end of a project.
- Working on-site and in an office.
