Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor – Construction Schemes

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of construction projects across the Teesside region. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team delivering a mix of commercial, residential, and infrastructure schemes.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of multiple projects, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The role requires a proactive individual who can operate independently and manage competing priorities across several live sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
• Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment
• Monitor project costs and cash flow, providing regular financial reports
• Conduct valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements
• Liaise with project managers, clients, and site teams

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of contracts (e.g. JCT/NEC)
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Professional membership (e.g. RICS) desirable but not essential
