Quantity Surveyor
Linear Recruitment are partnering with a modular contractor specialising in turnkey solutions within the commercial sector of construction. Due to company growth, they are seeking to source a Quantity Surveyor for their office based in Leeds.
Key Responsibilities
You will manage the full commercial and procurement function for the assigned projects within the hire division, including:
- Taking full ownership of the Project based Installation, Demobilisations and alterations processes. Developing scope of works, obtaining supply chain quotations and creating quotations to customers.
- Preparing and managing valuations, applications for payment, variations, and claims.
- Monitoring project budgets, forecasting costs, and producing accurate commercial reports.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks in line with company governance.
- Procuring materials and services, including negotiating pricing and placing orders with supply chain partners.
- Authorising and managing project variations, subcontract packages, and material orders
- Working from drawings and specifications and/or Bills of Quantities and/or Scope of Works to support accurate procurement and cost control
- Liaising closely with the Hire Team to ensure real-time cost visibility and control
- Managing and administering subcontract accounts and supplier relationships
- Collaborating with intercompany and cross-functional departments.
About the Candidate
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Experience of working in a fast-moving repairs and maintenance/FM environment with multiple concurrent work packages underway.
- Commercial awareness to maximise recovery
• Confident in sub-contract procurement, management, and commercial reporting
• Comfortable interpreting drawings, specifications and scope of works and resolving commercial issues
• Highly organised, proactive, and detail-focused, with a collaborative working style
• Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel and Microsoft Office
• Experience working cross-functionally with operational, technical, and finance teams
• Background in a repairs and maintenance/hard FM environment is highly desirable
• Full UK Driving Licence required
