Freelance Site Manager – Office Fit Out (Newcastle)

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the fit out of high-quality office accommodation in Newcastle. The project involves internal refurbishments and fit out works, including partitions, ceilings, M&E coordination, and finishes — so prior experience in managing commercial office fit outs is essential.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring programme, quality, and safety targets are achieved

• Coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and site logistics

• Ensuring H&S compliance, carrying out toolbox talks, and maintaining site documentation

• Liaising with the project manager, client, and design team

• Monitoring progress and reporting regularly on site performance

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering office fit out or refurbishment projects (ideally £500k–£2m range)

• SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid certifications

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Ability to manage subcontractors and drive progress on site

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards
