Description

I’m currently working with a highly respected civil engineering contractor in the North East and Yorkshire who are looking to strengthen their team with experienced Quantity Surveyors.

This business has been operating successfully for over a decade, delivering projects across speculative housing, social housing, health and social care, education, law and order, retail, infrastructure, water, and energy. Their reputation is built on collaboration, early engagement with clients, and adding real value through pre-construction advice, design input, programme rationalisation, risk assessment, and value engineering.

As part of their continued growth, they’re looking for Quantity Surveyors who are confident working across civil engineering groundworks and/or water framework projects. You’ll be involved from inception through to final account, ensuring that all commercial and contractual aspects of projects are managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating and managing contract documentation.

  • Providing guidance on commercial issues and promoting contractual awareness.

  • Managing subcontractors from enquiry through to final accounts.

  • Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final account submissions.

  • Producing variation/compensation event quotations and negotiating agreed values.

  • Proactively managing cost control and preparing profit/loss and cash flow forecasts.

  • Monitoring site progress, including regular site visits.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Commercially astute Quantity Surveyors with a passion for delivering results.

  • Experience in groundworks and/or water frameworks is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of NEC4 and a broad understanding of different contract forms.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels.

  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to support and develop junior team members.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Long-term career progression within a well-established civil engineering contractor.
  • Opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects in the water industry.
  • Supportive team environment with ongoing professional development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-regarded contractor that values its people and prides itself on strong relationships with clients and staff alike. The business is driven, supportive, and ambitious – and they’re looking for like-minded professionals who want to grow, progress, and make an impact.

If you are a motivated Quantity Surveyor, keen to progress your career with a leading civils company then apply now or contact matt.cassady@linearrecruitment.co.uk    07749495879.
