Description

Are you a detail-oriented and ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to advance your career within a thriving joinery contractor? 

We are working with a well-established and reputable joinery contractor based in Warrington, who are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the financial aspects of their diverse range of joinery projects, working closely with experienced professionals and contributing to their continued success.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely cost estimates for new joinery projects.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of valuations and payment applications.
- Monitor project costs and variations, ensuring that they are accurately recorded and managed.
- Assist with the preparation of cost reports and forecasts, providing insights into project performance.
- Assist with the negotiation of sub-contractor packages and procurement of materials.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and payments.
- Assist with the preparation of final accounts and settlement of claims.
- Liaise with site teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our quantity surveying processes and procedures.

Requirements:

- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor working for a joinery contractor is essential.
- Sound understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and valuation principles.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Familiarity with industry-standard measurement software is an advantage.
