Description

Job Title: Freelance Assistant Site Manager / Finishing Foreman

Location: New Build Housing Site, March, Cambridgeshire

Contract Duration: 3 Months

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Manager in overseeing all aspects of the new build housing site, ensuring timely completion within budget and to high-quality standards.
  • Manage and supervise the finishing works phase, ensuring all tasks such as plastering, painting, tiling, and carpentry are completed to the highest standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of work.
  • Regularly inspect work, identify issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all on-site personnel.
  • Maintain open communication with clients, suppliers, and the project team to ensure the smooth running of the project.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, highlighting potential issues or delays to the Site Manager.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role (Assistant Site Manager, Finishing Foreman, or Site Supervisor) in residential construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, particularly in the finishing phase of residential developments.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
  • Experience working with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and risk assessments.
  • CSCS card (site management level) is essential.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent is preferred.
  • First Aid at Work certification is advantageous.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working on new build housing projects.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the local area and relationships with local subcontractors in Cambridgeshire would be an advantage.
