Description

We are working with a top tier construction company who are looking to employ a Lead Design Coordinator on a full-time basis.

As a Lead Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for controlling the design budget, and to ensure designs are delivered on time, to the right quality and within budget. The requirements are to challenge the design all the way through the process including any processes that delay timely production of design documentation.

You will be required to manage the Process, Mechanical, Electrical designers, supply chain and where necessary to coordinate the civil designers and to review allocation of CAD services to the scheme.

Responsibilities:

  • To comply with company procedures and work instructions, guide notes and other information that forms part of the quality assurance, health and safety and environmental management systems
  • Develop Design Management Plan – incl. Design for Manufacturer (DfMA), use of standard designs.
  • Help develop and close out Designers Risk Assessments (DRA) on designs in a timely manner.
  • Review Particular Specifications (PS) to ensure minimum required information is submitted for procurement.
  • To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities commensurate with the role, as outlined in the Health and Safety policy.
  • To attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) if necessary to ensure S/C designs are compliant
  • Conformance with the Company’s Quality Assurance System

What do we need from you?

  • HNC/D in civil, electrical, mechanical or process engineering or equivalent level qualification
  • Process Safety/Hazard Management
  • CDM Regulations 2015 (for Designers preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience commensurate to the level of the role, preferably within the water/wastewater industry or other relevant sector
  • Experience in working within a design and build environment.
  • IT literate with an ability to use a wide range of IT packages including Microsoft Office
  • CompEx (Desirable)

The salary is indicative and based on experience.
