Linear Recruitment are working with a New Build Housing developer that are on the lookout for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to Join the team on a permanent basis, in the North East.
The role will involve providing commercial knowledge and assist to the responsibility for the financial delivery of a project.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Supporting the quantity surveying team in various aspects being cost estimations, budget preparation and Tendering process.
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling day to day project costs, conduct site visits to assess progress and to identify potential cost variations.
- Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and materials.
- Additionally, you would assist in preparing and managing contracts, processing payments and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations.
Essential skills:
- Experience of Quantity Surveying for New Build Housing Developers/ Use of the COINS system
- Good knowledge of construction awareness
- Computer Literate
- Good Problem-solving skills.
- Great communication/negotiating skills.
- Ambition to further develop skills and progression.
