We are working with a tier 1 main contractor who are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer in their Highways Division working on Highways schemes. The main purpose of the Senior Engineer will be to progress the construction process and assist in delivering the project.

Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with site management to complete quality take offs
- Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities / issues with the project
- Develop knowledge and ability in completing hazard / risk assessments and method statements, including alerting relevant personnel to control measures and work methods therein
- Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification
- Train, manage and mentor junior engineers
- Manage sectional setting out requirements on site
- Manage the sectional service plans/ drawings. Issue permits accordingly.
- Assist the QS / Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes
- Manage the as built requirements of your section and contribute to the completion of the site health and safety file
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures
What do we need from you?
- Previous experience as a Senior Engineer or Section Engineer for a main contractor
- Experience in the civils sector working with NEC forms of contract
- Computer literate including the use of CAD
- CSCS
- Hold a relevant qualification BSc/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering
- A minimum of 4 years of setting out experience working on infrastrucure projects including Highways, Rail, and Commercial Buildings, with a good understanding of ITPs and quality assurance
- Full UK Driving License
- First Aid (desireable)
- Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
Salary for this role will be dependent upon experience and discussed upon shortlisting.
