Description

Our client, a regional construction firm based in Stockton-on-Tees is looking for a Quantity Surveyor Estimator to join their growing team. As the Quantity Surveyor, you will work alongside colleagues to price a variety of jobs from the existing client base from the initial inquiry through all costing stages to completion.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • You will be responsible for estimating new inquiries.
  • Managing ongoing costs of live projects through to completion.
  • Producing and sending inquiries to subcontractors inviting them to tender and engage with the supply chain.
  • Produce bill of quantity/activity schedule for payment purposes. 
  • Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts.
  • Attend and contribute to financial and progress meetings with the client and subcontractors when required. 
  • Provide advice and support to site teams and colleagues. 

 

 

What do we need from you:

 

  • Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages. 
  • Preparing bills of quantities and schedules of works for pricing.
  • Preparing and sending out Subcontract inquiries.
  • Subcontract comparison and preparation of subcontract agreements.
  • Attending, contributing to, and taking minutes of meetings as required.
  • Preparing Valuations with Clients, agreeing on amounts for payment, and ensuring invoices are prepared and issued.
  • Re-measuring work using site measurement and measurement from drawings.
  • Re-measurement of subcontract applications and processing subcontract payments.
  • Informing Subcontractors of Contract variations.

 

 

What you'll need

  • Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Estimating role.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.
