Description

Due to a strong pipeline of work, we are recruiting a dynamic Bid Manager to join our client in the North West region.

Based in their Greater Manchester office, you will be part of a supportive and flexible working environment that allows for hybrid working. Reporting to a Preconstruction Manager, you will lead both internal and external resources to deliver successful bids, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. Your primary focus will be on managing the preconstruction bid process, ensuring customer expectations are met and exceeded.

With a proven track record of successful projects, you will be responsible for leading two-stage/negotiated tenders for projects ranging from £5m to £90 across various sectors, including Education, Leisure, Health, Blue Light, Transport, and Commercial. The company operates through several frameworks, offering opportunities for your work to come to life.

As a Bid Manager, you will be responsible for:

* Leading a bid team comprising internal and external resources, including estimators, design professionals, MEP professionals, and planners
* Developing the commercial strategy in collaboration with your team
* Managing customer expectations through regular 'health checks', maintaining professional and considerate relationships
* Developing project strategies to achieve sustainability objectives
* Monitoring progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and implementing pre-emptive and corrective actions as needed
* Ensuring continuous professional development of yourself and your team to maintain technical awareness and best practices
* Fostering a 'one team' approach to create a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations
* Coordinating inception workshops with customers to understand their needs and develop solutions

Your experience in managing diverse technical inputs, understanding complex construction schemes, and leading bid processes will help you thrive in this role. If you have previously worked in a construction technical role (Operations, Planning, Commercial, Design, or Estimating), you'll be well-prepared for this opportunity.

This is an exciting chance to join the pre-construction team and become an integral part of their success story. If you enjoy understanding customer challenges and finding innovative solutions, please apply below.
