Description

Due to ongoing growth, our client is looking for an Estimator to join their business. Based in County Durham. They have a good reputation in the North East working on commercial construction, refurb, and Civils work.

Using a bespoke system based on Excel you will run a diverse range of Tenders. You will be expected to prepare accurate cost estimates for all aspects of the project from tender to completion. You'll collaborate with clients and subcontractors to get the most competitive tenders possible. Finally, among other responsibilities, you will be expected to analyse project specifications and drawings to determine the full scope of supply.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate most of the following experience and attributes.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Software (in particular with Microsoft Excel, Outlook,and Word).
  • Ability to plan and coordinate multiple construction tenders simultaneously, including diary management.
  • An experienced Estimator who has been working for a principal contractor (highly desirable).
  • Previous experience within the Commercial and Domestic Construction Industry including the measurement and estimating of Construction Works essential.
  • Excellent communication and organizational mind and skillset.
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation, and delegation skills.

 

The Role:

  • Provide support to the operational teams, site-based supervision, and director with any variations to the original scope of supply.
  • Preparation of cost budgets and cost estimates for construction and maintenance tenders.
  • Project planning and anticipated cashflow management for Construction projects.
  • Maintain a flexible approach in dealing with both internal team members, external clients, and suppliers.
  • The processing of Sub-Contractor tender submission and any subsequent package award process.
