- Description
Site Agent required to manage remediation packages for one of Thames Water’s Civil Engineering contractors. This is an on-going freelance position. Please note that, due to our client’s policy, the only permitted payment options are Umbrella or PAYE.
The work will involve the repair and remediation of 2x bridges and 5x trunk sewer barrels, over rail and road networks. The works are actually still in design phase, so there is an opportunity to be involved in the development of a complex and large-scale package. Your remit will be to lead a team of Sub Agents and Engineers throughout the project.
You will be responsible for the delivery of the project, to the requisite standard and timeframe, ensuring the maximum commercial results. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and the Commercial Team to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always upheld.
To be considered, you must have good working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management and cost control, including forecasting. The role will involve/require you to:
- Lead the Team to deliver the work safely, without environmental incidents
- Ensure delivery of the required project plans, RAMS, ITP and check mechanisms
- Manage the preconstruction review process and ensure that all stakeholder consents and permits are in place prior to commencement
- Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised and that variations are notified and suitably quantified
- Maintain the project construction programme
- Assist in procurement
- Attend meetings with the Client, sometimes chairing and also ensuring meetings are minuted, with actions being communicated and carried out
- Deliver the project to customer requirements and satisfaction
- Manage the cost plan for the project
- Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed
- Produce good quality, accurate monthly reports internally and for the Client
- Chair weekly site meetings in line with Company procedures
- Ensure meetings are minuted and actions are communicated and carried out
Our client also requires you to have:
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering
- CSCS
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
- Excellent communication, people and management skills, with a positive attitude
- The character to lead on resolving problems and ensuring compliance across HSQE
It would be advantageous if you also had:
- Temporary works Coordinator
- Confined space training
- Lift Co-ordinator/Supervisor
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 software
Rate is indicative and dependent on pay type and experience.
