National Business Development Manager
Drive Growth Across the UK's Rail Industry
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious National Business Development Manager to join a well-established UK manufacturer of specialist, safety-critical equipment.
Supplying innovative products across the rail, highways, industrial and emergency services sectors, the business has built an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a commercially driven individual to develop new opportunities and strengthen existing customer relationships within the UK rail market.
This is a hybrid role offering nationwide responsibility, autonomy and genuine scope to make an impact.
The Role
You'll be responsible for growing sales across the rail sector through a combination of new business development, account management and equipment hire opportunities.
Working closely with customers and internal teams, you'll promote a specialist product range, identify new opportunities and build long-term commercial relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities across the UK rail industry.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
- Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations and presentations.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Attend exhibitions, industry events and customer open days.
- Monitor market trends and provide customer feedback to the business.
About You
We're looking for a motivated sales professional who enjoys building relationships and developing new business.
Ideally you'll have:
- Experience in business development, technical sales or account management.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- The ability to understand and present technical products.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
Experience within the rail, engineering, industrial or manufacturing sectors would be advantageous, although full product training will be provided.
