Freelance Civils Supervisor
Location: Morpeth, Northumberland
Job Type: Freelance
Duration: Ongoing
Start Date: Immediate
Rate: Competitive Day Rate (DOE)We are currently recruiting for an experienced Civils Supervisor to join an active civil engineering project in Morpeth on a freelance, ongoing basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, coordinating labour and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site activities.
- Manage site operatives and subcontractors.
- Ensure works are completed to the required quality and safety standards.
- Monitor progress against programme and report updates to site management.
- Deliver site briefings and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist with planning works and allocating resources effectively.
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supervising civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of drainage, earthworks, roads, utilities, and infrastructure works.
- Valid SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid qualification (desirable).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead teams and maintain productivity on site.
