Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading design and build environment delivering major water infrastructure projects across Yorkshire and the wider UK water sector. This role offers the chance to work on technically challenging projects from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer you will play a key role in improving water and wastewater treatment facilities, providing electrical design leadership throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring solutions are safe, efficient, innovative and fully compliant with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review electrical engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Design and specify MCCs, LV distribution systems, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA systems.
  • Produce and review technical specifications, schedules and procurement documentation.
  • Evaluate supplier tender submissions and provide technical assessments.
  • Support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through to commissioning and handover.
  • Mentor and support Graduate and Electrical Engineers, helping to develop technical capability across the team.
  • Apply and contribute to client, WIMES and wider industry standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams to support successful delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this Senior Electrical Engineer role, you should have:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or be working towards professional accreditation.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality electrical designs within regulated infrastructure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, control systems and instrumentation.
  • Experience within the UK water sector.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region as required.
